Give Woke a Chance

Is that really all we are saying?

When John Lennon

And Yoko Ono famously recorded their anti-war song in a hotel room in Montreal - and in bed no less - they were suggesting that a simple and catchy phrase from the comfort of a wedding bed could get us out of Vietnam, ok and maybe opine on the validity of wars in general.

Either way gotta give those two credit for a catchy four-word phrase that a country at the end of half a decade of turmoil likely needed.

At least the brevity part.

It was a decent attempt to test market this generation’s highest goal -
the idea that one person can change the world.

Or two, if they’re in bed surrounded by cameras.

Look we’d all like to imagine (pun intended), that a simple phrase, sung by enough people at the right time, could sway the winds of dictators and politicians. That a song could get every kid in Vietnam the hell out of that jungle, even if they had to pay homage to John and Yoko afterwards.
